COUNTDOWN TO THE 23rd GORLESTON CLIFFTOP FESTIVAL

Jul 28, 2022

The Gorleston Clifftop Festival organising committee are all systems go now this year’s festival has finally come round and we are looking forward to an awesome weekend on 30 & 31 July 2022. Keeping the kids amused will be so easy with the fun-packed Children’s Arena, a funfair for all ages, a fun dog show and agility display.  For the first time ever, you can even enjoy some TLC in the all-new Wellbeing Arena.

Lyndon Bevan, Chair of Visit Great Yarmouth said: “We’re really excited for the Gorleston Clifftop Festival to return. It’s been a key event in our calendar for over two decades and every year it just gets bigger and better. We’re looking forward to two-days of entertainment, activities, music, stalls, and a fantastic firework finale sponsored by Visit Great Yarmouth. With the amazing weather we have been having we are confident of drawing in lots of visitors to enjoy a brilliant family day out.”

There will be dance, live music on two stages and endless entertainment throughout, making for a lively weekend. Sports fans are well covered with live demos from local sports groups and the WAW Wrestlers. For those that fancy something a little different see the Jormungandr Austr Saxon & Viking Re-enactment Society do their thing and Star Wars fans will be delighted to see the Norwich Star Wars Club there.

Daniel Sheales said: “As a local business we wanted to offer our support to the Clifftop Festival as it is such a great free event that would not go ahead without local funding help.  Over the years, the event has brought great memories for locals and holiday makers and shows off the best of our town!

Having now come out of the pandemic, we are even more appreciative of the importance of events that bring our community together.  We are so pleased to be in a position to offer our support to the event organisers who dedicate themselves year on year to make it happen. Big respect from us all at Bar 1 Gorleston & Barn 1 Caldecott.”

If you do have time to spare, festival organisers would love to hear from volunteers who can help with bucket donation collections and many other tasks, both before and during the weekend. Organisers are grateful to the sponsors above along with Bycroft Estate Agents and, for anyone interested in supporting the 2023 event, it is never too soon to get involved.

Free car parking is available in front of the Pavilion Theatre and the boating lake and further up there is a Council-run carpark on Marine Parade. Visitors are requested to respect local residents when parking near the event.

We look forward to seeing everyone back on the clifftop enjoying themselves once more!
